So much beauty in dirt.

I’ve never been much of a writer. Instead of descriptive storytelling I let my images speak for my experiences. We are all guilty of ignoring where we are in the present moment. Taking so much for granted on a daily basis. Letting the simple colors of life pass us by and overlooking the beautifully “mundane”. Its time to be present again.

Floating down the Deerfield River reminded me of Modest Mouse’s, “So much beauty in dirt”.  Could there be a more complete song about the simple pleasures we take for granted each day?

Out of breath and out of cash
Find yourself watching M.A.S.H
And every night on the couch
Woman says, “Let’s take a drive down south”

Roll down the windows and open our mouths
Taste where we are and play the music loud
Stop the car lay on the grass
The planet spins and we watch space pass

Walk a direction see where we get
I never knew nothin’ so there’s nothin’ to forget
Get real drunk and ride our bikes

There’s so much beauty it could make you cry
There’s so much beauty it could make you cry
There’s so much beauty it could make you cry
There’s so much beauty it could make you cry

The rich get money but never what they want
Find ourselves a new place to haunt
Climb up the fire escape
Do it ’til the ground looks far away

Go night swimming leave our clothes on the ground
Even when we get busted we just stand there proud
It’s the truth we all been wrong, make it up and let’s move on
Playing cards we all get to act sly

There’s so much beauty it could make you cry
There’s so much beauty it could make you cry
There’s so much beauty it could make you cry

      1. For sure! What camera are you using? The picture of the Brown Trout is super crisp! My wife loves pictures of cows too 😉

      2. Im using a Fujifilm FinePix S700. Its a little old school but the quality and clarity are great. The FinePix also has a wonderful macro setting and killer zoom. You can find them on ebay for under fifty bucks. Im looking to switch to the Nikon COOLPIX AW100. Overall its a much better camera and full of waterproof goodness.
